The ground rules.
Minus the legalese.
We've kept these terms as short and clear as we could. They explain what you can expect from Savoira, what we expect from you, and what happens if either of us falls short.
Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to the Savoira platform and your use of the services it offers. Savoira is published by Savoira SAS, a company incorporated under Congolese law and registered in Kinshasa, DRC.
By creating an account or using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use Savoira, and feel free to write and tell us why.
These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. Together, they form the entire agreement between you and us.
Definitions
To avoid any confusion, here's what we mean by the terms used in this document:
Creating an account
To use Savoira, you need a personal account. Creating one is free and comes with a few conditions:
- You must be 16 or older. If you're between 16 and 18, you need a legal guardian's consent.
- You provide accurate, up-to-date information and agree to keep it that way.
- An account is strictly personal. You may not lend it, resell it or share it.
- You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens on your account. Turn on two-factor authentication if you can.
- You'll tell us right away if you suspect your account has been compromised, at contact@savoira.com.
Our services
Subject to technical change, Savoira offers:
- Access to a course catalog built on video, text and interactive exercises.
- Guided paths leading to a certificate.
- Mentor support, depending on the path you purchase.
- Assessments, projects and end-of-path assignments.
- A community of learners, available through discussion spaces.
The catalog, content and features evolve over time. We may add, change or remove a course without individual notice, subject to section 12.
Pricing and payment
Prices are shown all-in (taxes included) on each path page and on the Pricing page. You can pay in US dollars (USD) or Congolese francs (CDF).
| Offer type | Payment | Access |
|---|---|---|
| Single course | One-time | Lifetime access to the course, updates included |
| Paths | One-time, or 3 interest-free installments | Lifetime access to the path, updates included |
| Business plans | Custom quote | Dedicated contract |
Every purchase is a one-time payment, nothing renews automatically. To pay in 3 installments, just email contact@savoira.com before you buy. No fees, no interest.
Price changes only apply to new purchases. Courses and paths you already own are never billed retroactively.
Online payment is made with Mobile Money (M-Pesa, Orange Money or Airtel Money): no banking details are entered or stored on our servers. If you run into any difficulty, write to us at contact@savoira.com: we agree on a payment method and open your access upon receipt.
Money-back guarantee
You can try Savoira risk-free. Two simple commitments:
The 30-day guarantee ends once you've completed more than 30% of the path, downloaded all of its resources, or earned its certificate. That's our only exception, and it exists to discourage abuse.
Your content
Everything you publish on Savoira (exercise answers, submitted projects, discussion posts, comments, and so on) remains your property. We claim no copyright over any of it.
In return, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display and distribute your content strictly as needed to run the service: showing it in your courses, sharing it with your mentor, including it in your final certificate.
We do not use your projects, exercises or messages to train artificial-intelligence models, resell them, or exploit them for third-party commercial gain. That line is set in stone.
You remain solely responsible for what you publish. You warrant that you hold the necessary rights and that publishing it breaks no law and violates no one else's rights.
Acceptable use
By using Savoira, you agree not to:
Any breach can lead to the immediate suspension of your account (section 11), without notice or refund.
Intellectual property
All of Savoira's learning content, videos, materials, exercises, project source code, belongs to Savoira SAS or its partners and is protected by copyright.
Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable right of use: watch, run the code, and reuse it in your personal or professional projects. It does not include:
- Rebroadcasting the videos publicly, even in part.
- Reselling, renting or making them available to third parties.
- Reproducing them for commercial purposes (paid in-house training, for example).
- Bulk-downloading resources for use outside the platform.
You may quote briefly from a course or exercise in an educational or editorial context, crediting Savoira as the source.
Certificates
When you complete a path, we issue a signed digital certificate that anyone can verify by its unique number at savoira.com/verify.
- The certificate confirms you completed the path according to our internal criteria.
- It is not an official diploma recognized by a state or professional body, unless explicitly stated.
- It stays verifiable even if you delete your account, unless you explicitly ask us to withdraw it at contact@savoira.com.
- A certificate obtained through fraud (cheating, plagiarism) can be revoked at any time.
Suspension and termination
By you
Because purchases are one-time payments, there's nothing to cancel: you keep lifetime access to your courses and paths without lifting a finger.
You may, however, request the deletion of your account at any time, from your space (Profile & settings → Security → Delete my account) or by writing to contact@savoira.com from the account's address. Deletion ends your access to purchased content and is final: it erases your account, your progress and your enrolments. Your certificates remain verifiable by their number, since a diploma is not revoked because an account is closed (see the privacy policy). Remember to download your personal work first.
By us
We may suspend or terminate an account only in the following cases:
- Breach of these Terms (cheating, harassment, fraud, and the like), immediate suspension, no refund.
- A missed installment on a 3-installment path, after two reminders 7 days apart, access is suspended until the balance is settled.
- A reasoned decision by Savoira in an exceptional case, 30 days' notice and a pro-rata refund.
We never close an account for inactivity. Lifetime access means lifetime access, even if you don't log in for years.
Service availability
We aim for 99.5% availability over the year, measured outside planned maintenance. The platform is still an online service: we can't guarantee absolute availability.
Liability
We do everything we can to keep Savoira running smoothly and its content accurate and current. But learning is a personal endeavor: we don't guarantee any particular professional outcome, a job, a raise, an external certification, or anything else.
To the extent the law allows, Savoira SAS's liability is capped at the amount you paid us over the past 12 months. We can't be held liable for indirect damages, data loss you caused yourself, or the consequences of using the platform in breach of these Terms.
This cap doesn't apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct on Savoira's part, to personal injury, or to any liability the law doesn't allow us to exclude.
Disputes and governing law
These Terms are governed by Congolese law. We always try to resolve disagreements amicably first:
If you live in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our service, in regulation, or in our practices. The last-updated date is shown at the top of this page.
For any significant change, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Savoira after that date counts as acceptance. If you don't accept, you can close your account at no cost.
